Before the camera ever comes up, I arrive with more than equipment.
I carry awareness.
I carry patience.
I carry the understanding that most people are holding more than they say out loud.
Every session begins quietly.
I watch how someone enters a space.
Where they place their hands.
How long it takes for their shoulders to soften.
This part matters.
Because long before anyone asks where to stand or what to do, what they’re really wondering is whether they can relax here. Whether they can let go of performing. Whether they can simply be present.
That’s the work I’m doing before the first frame is made.
I don’t rush people into being ready.
I give them room to arrive.
I listen more than I speak.
I move slowly on purpose.
I pay attention to what’s unfolding instead of correcting it.
The technical pieces matter — of course they do — but they’re never the point.
What I carry into every session is the care to notice what’s already there.
The restraint to let it breathe.
And the trust that the story will reveal itself in its own time.
That’s how the images come together.
Not from instruction —
but from presence.
This is where the story begins.....
